主要介绍6个连词，这6个连词的共同特征是“所有的句子成分（主语，宾语，表语，介词短语，副词，谓语（句子），补语，同位语）都可以连接”，除了and会连接“补语，同位语”，其他的5个很少连接“补语，同位语”。6个连词如下图所示：

1 and 

2 neither…nor…

连接主语：我和他都不想见你—neither i and he wants to see you.

连接宾语：他和他的朋友我都不喜欢—i like neither his friend nor him.

连接表语：他既不是老师也不是医生—he is neither teacher nor docotor.

连接介短：他既不是出生在上海也不是北京—he was born neither in shanghai nor beijing === he was born in neither shanghai nor beijing

连接副词：他既没有死在楼上也没有死在楼下—he died neither upstairs nor downstairs.

连接谓语：他既没有给我打电话也没有来—he neither called me nor came.

注：neither…nor是就近原则

3 both…and…

　　both…and…是两者都怎样怎样，neither…nor是两者都不怎么样不怎么样，所以both…and举例与neither…nor相似，所以这里就不在赘述，只讲两者的一些细微差别，如下：

• 要是句子是否定的，用neither…nor与both…and都可以
• 要是句子是肯定的，只用both…and

只是按照上边这样讲，可能会有点抽象，下边举例说明：

• 我和他都不想见你—neither i nor he wants to see you.=== both he and i do not want to see you.
• 我和他都想见你—both he and i want to see you.

注;both…and没有就近原则，不会有第三人称单数的情况

4 either…or…

either…or…表示“两者选其一”。

连接主语：不是你错了就是我错了—either you or i am wrong.

连接宾语：你要么选这个要么选哪个—you select either this one or that one.

连接表语：他不是老师就是医生—he is either teacher or doctor.

连接介短：他不是去北京就是去上海了—he went either to beijing or to shanghai.===he went to either beijing or shanghai.

连接副词：我不是这个月就是上个月遇到他的—i met him either this month or last month.

连接谓语：你要么给我打电话，要么过来—you either call me or come.

注：either…or是就近原则。

5 not only … but also … 

表示“不仅…而且…”

连接主语：不仅他，而且tom也去了北京—not only he but also tom went to beijing.

连接宾语：我不仅喜欢打篮球而且喜欢踢足球—i like playing not only basketball but also soccer.

连接表语：他不仅善良而且友好—he is not only kind but also friendly.

连接介短：他不光在学校学英语，在家也学—he learns english not only in shool but also at home.

连接副词：他不光上个月没来，这个月也没来—he did not come not only last month but also this month.

连接谓语：他不但告诉了我真相，还帮了我—he not only told me the truth but also helped me.

注：not only … but also是就近原则

6 as well as

表示“也” 

as well as 与not only…but also造的例句差不多，只是强调的重点不一样，下边讲解一下两者的差别：

not only he but also tom went to beijing.（强调tom，即强调后边的，所以谓语的形式与后边的保持一致，也叫就近原则）

tom as well as he went to beijing.（强调tom，即强调前边的，所以谓语的形式与前边的保持一致，也叫就远原则）

补充：

as well 是副词，表示“也”，相当于too。

举例：他去了北京，tom也去了北京—he went to beijing ,tom went to beijing as well.
