What is GatewayDefender, and how is it different?

GatewayDefender is a managed service designed is to eliminate Electronic Message Threats (EMT) and help users avoid the potentially damaging effects of:

Viruses/Worms
Network infrastructure damage, information theft, loss of network control
Spam
Productivity killer, annoyance, hardware/bandwidth resource consumer
Inappropriate Content
Opens one to sexual harassment suits, productivity killer

GatewayDefender's unique approach is called EMTi, or Electronic Message Threat Interdiction. Interdiction is fundamentally different than many other systems, because it allows only good emails to reach your mail server:

Yes, you will be able to control your own definition of EMT using GatewayDefender's Message Center. You decide how strict or sensitive you would like Gateway Defender by adjusting the Quarantine Category values that are important to you, your personnel, your clients or your family.

How would GatewayDefender be implemented into my domain and how will it be priced?

GatewayDefender's optional package fee is $2.00 per month per domain and a $1.50 per mailbox on each domain signed up. Your total fee for the service will depend on how many mailboxes you have on your domain. In other words, when GatewayDefender is purchased, the domain owner will be charged a $2.00 domain GatewayDefender package fee plus $1.50 for each existing mailbox and distribution list. Think how much time you waste every day dealing with annoying spam. For less then 5 cents per day per mail box you stay spam free.
We suggest you try it for a month!

Example:
Domain with three (3) mailboxes activates GatewayDefender
(3 x $1.50) = $4.50 + $2.00 = $6.50 per month added to monthly web hosting fees.

The billing date will be the 1st of each month, and InternetPlanners.com will bill ahead for the following month. When a user purchases the GatewayDefender service, their charges will be pro-rated, in that the user will be charged the pro-rated fee until the 30th of the current month, plus the full fee for the following month. For example, if a user signs up for GatewayDefender on July 12th, they will be charged the prorated amount equal to the 12th of July until the 30th of July, plus the full fee for the month of August. Contract lengths and payment dates may be different from that of the hosting or other packages, and users will receive a separate invoice for their GatewayDefender service.

How to activate GatewayDefender on my domain?

  1. Please login via http://www.yourdomainname.com/menu (replace yourdomainname.com with your domain name) and go to the "Add Package" and add the GatewayDefender package.  If you need your domain control panel password please email us and include your domain name in the message.  We will email the 'Welcome letter' to the account holders on record.
  2. Go back to the Control Panel and click on the GatewayDefender icon.
  3. Click on the purchase link at the bottom of the page and follow the instructions to purchase GatewayDefender.
  4. Once GatewayDefender is purchased, there is a 1-5 business day waiting period for GatewayDefender to enable the account on GatewayDefender servers. Generally, if you purchase your GatewayDefender account by Thursday at 3:00 pm (Eastern Time), you should be enabled by the end of Friday. This is not "set in stone" but is a good rule of thumb. If you purchase your GatewayDefender account after 3:00 pm (Eastern Time) on Thursday, the account may not be enabled until the following Tuesday.  You will receive an email when the GatewayDefender is installed including user names and passwords.
    You will be able to access your GatewayDefender account through your Mail Manager, Webmail or direct login at GatewayDefender interface.

    IMPORTANT - Please use your mail manager to remove/delete any mail accounts you do not wish continue before you set add the Gateway Defender package.
